The Presence of the Lord is Here

I guess it was my post on yesterday, but this morning I woke up with a smile on my face and a song in my heart. Those that know me understand that this is unusual. I am not a smiley, happy-go-lucky person. I’m a bit more reserved and aloof. I hold particular disdain for all of that cheery fluff.

But today is different. I can literally feel the joy of the Lord bubbling up inside of me! I actually sang with the angels while I showered. I couldn’t help but grin as I sped up the highway on my way to work.

I know you’re wondering what happened to cause me to be so joyful. New job? Nope. Get some money? Nuh-uh. Finally get engaged? Not at all. So, what is it? To be honest, not a thing has changed from last night until now. I’m in the same exact spot, but I feel like I’ve overcome the world! I am basking in a glorious outpouring of God’s love, and it’s amazing!

Our Heavenly Father doesn’t need a reason to shower us with His love. In fact every day He’s waiting there with open arms willing to smother us with His presence. It’s just up to us to take the time to tap into the spirit and receive what He’s waiting to give.

I guess this morning was my turn to experience a “free sample” of what I could be partaking in each day if I took some time to meditate on the goodness of the Lord. And even though I sometimes take pride in my sarcasm and cynical nature, I am going to make an effort to keep this spirit of joy alive in my heart. I have to admit, this is the best feeling in the world!
