Currently I am taking a Systematic Theology class. We have arrived to the section "What is God Like?" It's quite interesting going through the attributes of God and what separates him from His creatures and creation. And, believe me, we are systematically going through each and every one of them!
While going through this study, I find it interesting that some scholars still come to the conclusion that there is no God. With all of the evidence, with all of the facts, they still contest that God does not exist. I can see how someone would think that our Jehovah God may not exist, but they still acknowledge that there is a Higher Power. But, no God at all? How can that be?
When I look merely at the intricacies of my hands, and I think about how my body runs itself without me even thinking about it, I know that there is a God. When I see the beauty of the trees, flowers, and plants, I marvel at how God is so detailed and creative.
Looking at the great expanse of the sky, the stars and planets, I wonder at the greatness of a God so big He could create it all. Watching the birds fly and fish swim, I thank God for creating them.
What gives you affirmation that God is real? What is there in God's majesty that makes you pause and give Him praise? What reflections of Him do you see in the world around you?
Take a moment today and meditate on who God is. He's more than just a "feeling" that you get in church service. He's more than someone who listens to your prayers and keeps you safe. He's even more than the One who sent His Son to die for you. He's GOD! And He does exist.
Verse of the Day: The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalm 19:1
