Who Knows?

I'm still meditating on fulfilling your purpose in God.

Jonah's claim to fame was literally going the in the opposite direction that God was calling him to. As a result, Jonah jeopardized the lives of the people he was travelling with. It was only when he put his life on the line that Jonah was able to spare those around him.

And he still had to go back and do what the Lord asked him to do.

Many of us are undercover Jonah's out here. We know God has called us to action, but we are doing the total opposite: nothing.

We may not be in the midst of a great storm with the potential to be killed and have others killed with us. But who knows how many lives are being adversely affected because of our inaction? Who knows how many souls will go unsaved because we did not open our mouths when God asked us to speak? Who knows how many lives will not be improved because we did not put the programs and visions in place that God gave to us?

When Jonah wised up, he saved a whole city from being destroyed. When we wise up as a body of Christ, we can save this world from destruction.

Verse of the Day: And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them... And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. Jonah 3:4, 5, 10

No Excuses Before the Throne

My girl Joyce Meyer was stepping all on my toes this morning. She was talking about how people need to follow through on what they know they are supposed to do. She said that the saints are "educated beyond our obedience."

I most certainly agree.

All you have to do is look at some of my old posts, and you'll see how deep this woman of God was wading in my business.

I meditated on that this morning, and I was reminded of something. We will all have to give an account before the Lord when we make it to heaven. (Romans 14:12) I definitely don't want to be standing there without being able to say I accomplished or, hey, even tried to accomplish my destiny. I don't want to stand before God with my purpose unfulfilled.

There are no excuses when you're standing before the Creator of the Universe.

So, I'm praying. I'm fighting against these enemies called Procrastination, Fear, and Doubt. I can't do it anymore. I'm getting too old. And I'm starting to sound like a broken record.

God created me for a reason. I can't go back before Him without my reason being fulfilled.

Are you living out your purpose? Are you attempting to accomplish your destiny? We're all in the same boat. Don't let this short life go by without you pressing toward your finish line.

Verse of the Day: And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. No Worries!

Hey, Everyone! How are you doing this lovely Monday morning? It's so good to be back. I'm rested, relaxed, and refreshed! Jamaica was lovely, and I'm already thinking about the next girls' trip!

One thing I love about the people of Jamaica is their philosophy on life. I heard "No worries" and "No problem" all throughout my trip. As a person who is trying to get over all of my unnecessary analysis and thoughts that can go in endless circles, it was pleasant to just turn off that part of my brain and relax.

That was on vacation, though. Not sure how that will translate in my everyday life.

However, as believers, we honestly can stay free of worry and concern. Our Lord and Savior has our lives in the palm of His hand, and will not allow anything to occur that is not a part of His ultimate plan. As long as we are walking in sync with Him, we honestly have no reason to worry or fret.

The Lord has plans to bring us to an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11) That means, no matter what, He will bring us to a place He has prepared for us to dwell in. Isn't that great? Our awesome God is thinking about how to bring us to His place of destiny, and He is moving things around to get us there!

So, no matter what, take on the "No worries" mentality. It's in God's hands, so you have great things ahead of you!

I'm Going On Vacation!

Hello Everyone!

I am about to fly out to the beautiful island of Jamaica! I'm so excited. I'm overdue for a real vacation.

I thought about putting up some posts for you all while I'm gone, but I had so many other things I had to do, I never got to the extra posts. So, I'll be back on Monday!

Working Expectation

You can't expect a harvest
if you don't plant some seeds!

After the message on Sunday, I've been meditating on expectation. I'm really expecting God to do some things, and I want to make sure that I line up my life correctly to receive from Him.

Expectation is more than just sitting and hoping for something to come along.

When you're expecting a guest, you clean your house and set out the good china. When a woman's expecting a child, she buys items for when the baby arrives. When I'm expecting some extra money, I start plotting on how I'll spend it when it arrives.

Expectation brings action. Faith without works is dead. (James 2:17) You can't tell me you're expecting something from the Lord if you're not putting any action in your life to make room for the blessing.

Currently, I am expecting God to grow my ministry. So, I have to prep myself to be worthy of having a larger place in Him. I have to read more of His Word. I have to spend more time in prayer. I have to make sure I am living my life in a way that is pleasing to Him. How can God place me in a larger place if I'm not capable to handle it?

I'm also expecting God to send me a husband. (Send him, Lord! lol) So, I have to prep myself to be a wife. I have to make sure I'm not wasting my time with foolishness. I have to make sure my life is reflecting the type of character the kind of husband I want is looking for.

What are you expecting God to do for you? Are you acting in expectation? Even if all you can do is confess the word in faith. Confess the Word! Do something to put some action behind your expectation.

Verse of the Day: ...shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. James 2:18

Afternoon Ti: How Do You Stay Hungry?

getting what's mine!

For the class that I'm currently taking, I've had to do some leadership audits on my current ministry. I've found out that I'm very strong in a lot of areas, but I'm clearly weak in the areas of follow-through.

I cannot tell you how many ideas that I've had of different, innovative, and creative methods for various things where ministry is involved. I have even more items filed away for my own personal life. However, the majority of my bright ideas wind up confined to a journal, file on my laptop, or stay stuck in my brain.

I don't know what it is, but I have spurts of inspiration for a moment in time only to let the dreams fall to the wayside. I don't want to be one of those people that looks back and sees a life filled with plans unfulfilled. Still, that looks like how things are shaping up. And I want to put a stop to it.



So, I wanted to ask: How do you stay hungry? How do you stay motivated to follow through on your plans, dreams, and goals? What keeps you from letting procrastination dead your dreams?

I appreciate your advice!

What Are You Expecting?

My blessing's coming!

Yesterday, my Pastor preached a powerful message on expecting miracles. It got me thinking about what I expect every day. It's funny the little things we look forward to (pay days, the weekend, time with friends...) and the things we dread (Mondays, dentist visits, paying bills...).

Our expectation or dread usually has an effect on our mood. Right now I'm excited because I'll be flying to a fabulous vacation in two days!

So, what are you expecting God to do for you? What are you looking forward to seeing Him do in your life? Are you anxiously looking toward the future with hope? Do you have anything on the horizon where your spirit is concerned?

God has so many promises that He wants to fulfill for you. However, we have to grab hold to these promises in faith and believe on Him for the manifestation. We have to sit and talk with Him and remind Him (really ourselves) of our covenant promises as His children.

The fewer the things that you're believing God for, the fewer the blessings that show up. If you're not praying for or expecting God to do anything, you're not really getting the full benefit of being His child. The Word of God is full of benefits and promises that you can have. Grab hold to some today, and start expecting God to show up!
