God Is So Good...

The story of 10 year old Willie Myrick has touched me so much! This young boy was kidnapped, but his song of praise led to his release!

I don't even care for the song "Every Praise", but the words are impacting me as I think about where this young boy could have ended up. God is truly our Savior, Deliver, and Healer. Every praise belongs to Him!

The Lord's Prayer (Part Three)

We've reached the final portions of our look at the Lord's Prayer.

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil...

Other versions of the Bible phrase this section differently. The New Living Translations says: And don’t let us yield to temptation. God is never going to tempt you with sin. However, the devil is going to use every open door to try to trip you up.

When we are tempted, we have to acknowledge that God will always provide a way of escape for us. Temptations rise up every day. We don't have to give in to them. There is always a way for us to avoid sin.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, for ever.
Amen.

Jesus closes his prayer the same way He opened it: acknowledging the awesomeness of God. It is the Lord's Kingdom that will last forever. His power will outlast all others. His glory will shine for eternity. He is the One who will reign forever!

It is important that we keep this fact always before us. We serve the one true God. Our God is above all others. He is the Mighty, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent One. And He has granted us the privilege to go before Him personally in prayer.

In your prayer time today, lift up those areas where you are being tempted. Rebuke the devil, and ask the Lord for help to keep you from sin. Remember the mighty God you serve! He is so magnificent, and He is taking time to hear from you. Give Him glory and praise as you pray.

Have an awesome day today!

Verse of the Day: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Matthew 6:13

Praise in the Middle of It

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! It's a new week, a new day, and a new opportunity for us to show the glory of God to those around us! Let's take advantage of this week and utilize every day to it's full potential. God has granted us life, so let's make the most of it!

Today I am reminded of Paul and Silas. These men took every opportunity to glorify the Lord! The did not even let being imprisoned stop the praise that came forth from their beings. When they were beaten and locked away in chains, they did not despair. They were not despondent. They lifted up joyful praises to the Lord! And the praises they offered were so sincere and so full of love that they caused heaven to break loose not only their chains, but everyone in that jail's chains! On top of that, the praises of these two men were so impactful, they caused the jailer and his whole household to come to know Jesus! (Acts 16:22-40)

What kind of praises are you lifting up in the midst of your situation? Don't allow circumstances to shut you up! Open up your mouth and glorify your Father in heaven. Your praise could be the key to breaking you out of your chains! Your praise can loose somebody else's chains! Your testimony in the midst of the storm could be the one thing that brings another soul into the kingdom of God!

No matter what you are facing, where you are, or what you are doing - God is still worthy of praise!

Verse of the Day: And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. Acts 16:25, 26

I thought I'd switch things up this week and post some of my fave praise and thanksgiving songs, so we can lift up a joyful noise to the Lord!

Enjoy!

I'm Thankful!

I'm so grateful the Lord is always with me!

I will bless the Lord at all times, and I will continuously praise His name!

Seeing God in Everything

Some of the greatest and most poignant passages of scripture were written in fields as a man was tending sheep. While watching after his flock, David penned psalms of praise to the Lord. Looking after his lambs, David found ways that his relationship with his herd mirrored his relationship with the Lord. In the midst of his regular routine, David was able to find God.

Today, I want to encourage you to find God in your regular routine. Think about your activities and how they mirror your Christian walk. As you take care of different tasks throughout the day, find moments to lift up praise and worship to your heavenly Father. As you interact with others, choose to remember the love of Christ and allow that to influence your behavior.

Maybe you'd like to go a step further. Take a short break and pen a poem or paragraph to the Lord. Express to Him what's on your heart. Pour out to Him whatever you are feeling. What I love about David was that nothing was off limits. He was totally transparent before God. Whether he was afraid, angry, restless, joyful, or somber, David expressed it to God and was able to still honor the Lord in the midst of any situation. You, too, can do the same.

Let today be a day of wonder, reflection, and praise to the Lord. Honor the Lord in your work, study, play, and fellowship. Recognize God in the world around you. Spend time worshipping Him in all that you do.

Verse of the Day:  I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. Psalm 34:1-3

You Are Blessed!

It's a new day, a new week, and a new chance for you! Today, I want to encourage you to look at your life with new eyes. Look for the silver lining in whatever issues come your way, find the blessing in the midst of the storm... Before you complain, find a reason to give God praise. Remember - things could always be worse. There is someone else who is dealing with a heavier load than what you're carrying.

You are blessed!

You have another day of life! God is worthy to be praised. Every day you wake up is a new opportunity. Forget about what happened on yesterday. It's over and done with. No matter what your mistakes, no matter what you did, today is a time for you to begin again.

In order to move forward, you have to look forward. Even if you see dark clouds gathering or if you're already in the midst of a downpour, you still are able to move forward. It may not be the mile that you wanted... but every inch is new ground covered. Stay encouraged! Keep moving!

You are blessed!

I love David's example. This man wrote the greatest book of poetry giving honor to the Lord.

Much of David's work was written during hardship. David lived for a time on the run for his life from the king. He also committed adultery and suffered a loss of his infant son due to his sin, and David's family faced much turmoil during the final years of his life.

Yet in between the lines of David's anguish... In the midst of his cries for help and rescue... David found it within himself to remember the Word of the Lord. He chose to remember the great God that he served. He took courage knowing the Lord was on his side. David was able to find the blessing in his storm.

In spite of whatever you are facing, God is still in control. No matter how devastating yesterday was, you woke up to a brand new day today. Follow David's example and find a way to give God thanks. Take a moment to remember the great God you serve. Look forward with a smile on your face recognizing that in spite of it all you're a winner.

You are blessed!

Verse of the Day: I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:13, 14

Praise In The Midst of Adversity

Today is starting off to be... a day. Things are not going as smoothly as I would like, I have items piling up that all need prompt attention, I have one major problem I have to figure out asap, and I'm not feeling so hot physically. Plus, I logged on here and could not think of one thing to write on. Not one.

Today was shaping up to be the perfect set up for stress, negativity, and frustration.

BUT...

I am choosing to fix my mind to be positive. I am choosing to fix my attitude to be pleasant. I am going to give God praise for another day of life! I am going to praise God for employment! I am going to lift up my hands and thank Him for health and strength!

In the midst of what seems like chaos and awaiting stress, I am choosing to remember the great God I serve. I am choosing to think on His goodness and love. I am making the choice to adjust my actions and reactions to His will.

I will not succumb to stress. I will not get a nasty attitude. I will not grow frustrated. I will not get sick!

I WILL rejoice in the Lord always, and again I will rejoice! I WILL give thanks in the midst of adversity, because I know the Lord is working all things together for my good. I will acknowledge God in all of my ways, since He will guide my feet on the right paths. I WILL give Him all my problems, concerns, and troubles... He'll take care of them much better than I ever could.

SO...

Today is going to be... a great day! Because of all that's going on around me, I will get to experience the wonderful saving power of my Heavenly Father. I will get to experience the greatness of His peace that passes all understanding. Today, I will walk in the comfort of His strength.

Today, make sure you lean on the great God you serve to bolster you through any hardness you face. Don't allow your emotions and attitude to take on negativity. Remember the majesty of your Savior. Take hold of your benefits in Christ! No weapon formed against you will prosper. You can and will succeed!

Verse of the Day: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
